Lost & Found

I went away just to get lost all the time

And yet always ended up in a pile of troubles

Dive in the haze and chaos, to find the dime

Then tripping and falling over unrelated pebbles

I’d say I found you in a hopeless place

Packaged with comfort, safe and sound

A tango of conversations that is hard to trace

A familiar foreign, an immediate bound

I’ve been craving for a mental reset

Didn’t know how to escape

Grabbing the wrong knob, all-in in wrong bet

Struggling to picture the bigger landscape

You are the embodiment of my crave

To live at the moment, laughs, and light shoulders

A proof that my curse isn’t engraved

A hope for safety without having guardian soldiers

Mixed drinks met mixed feeling

A shot of fear, two shots of euphoria

Puff and pass, we were mingling

You understood my laughter in dystopia

From understanding my mistake

To late night shenanigans

Didn’t think about what’s at stake

Two naughty nerds, holding hands

We’re both mischievous, a little menace

Instant ambush of butterflies, a risky dive

Sixteen hours and you could finish my sentence

Were we something in our past lives?
